PG & Research Department of Commerce has its own inheritance in our esteemed Institution. Many Legends from Commerce department have dedicated their tireless efforts, knowledge and tuned-up to the upliftment of the Commerce Department with its uniqueness.

At the fifth year of growth of the Institution, the commerce department was started in the year 1975 under the Aided stream with one section offering B.Com Degree for both men and women in order to cater to the increasing demand from the women’s students and as it is the noble ambition of the Founder and the college to offer maximum facilities for women students another section was started exclusively for Women students in Commerce Curriculum.

As a pioneer in Tiruchirappalli,our Management introduced Post – Graduate Course in Commerce in the year 1981 as the next step for Commerce Higher education under Aided stream.

Our Department is the Forerunner as an approved recognized Research Centre in the Aided stream of the Bharathidasan University. To fulfill the thirst of the students in Research, M.Phil in Commerce was commenced in the year 1987 and Ph.D was instigated in the year 1990.

The commerce Department has research committee, which meets at regular intervals and formulates the relevant research work that can be under taken at the different levels and allot the same to the students involved in research.As a Premier Research Institution in Trichy, more than 120 Research Scholars had been awarded Ph.D and are occupying prominent positions in different parts of the globe.

PG & Research Department of commerce always has a strong History of highly qualified and experienced Faculty members with Multi-faceted skills in all Curricular, Co-Curricular and Extra Curricular activities.

Alumni of Commerce department Students and Scholars of our Department scattered across the globe and occupies a pivotal role and Prestigous position in Academic, Business and Industry. Starring with Glorious Alumnae base, PG & Research Department of Commerce is glowing with growth yearly.
