Founder
Our founder Shri. Seshachalam Chettiar was born in a village, ‘Urumu of Andra Pradesh, India, came to Trichy of Tamil Nadu in the year 1946 along with his wife Shrimathi. Dhanalakshmi Ammal. He became a cloth merchant and started his business in a an elaborate manner and became wealthy.
He gave everything, his wealth and life for the cause of education. His wife gave willingly all the jewels for his noble cause and supported him. He established a Trust in the year 1952 by creating Shri. V. S. Chettiar Educational Trust and he left on 17.11.1953. Our founder’s Day is celebrated on 17th november of every year in memory of him.
He considered himself as an orphan by living in the orphanage, near UDV school, Trichy. While constructing UDV School, he considered himself as a labourer and he worked along with them. His adorable qualities were honesty, simplicity and empathy towards the poor. Moreover, he was hard worker, social reformer and a symbol of love.
Our college is located in the outskirts of Trichy, situated in the Trichy – Tanjore National Highway, which is on the way to BHEL. Our College started functioning at SIT in Trichy campus for the first two years (1970 – 72). Subsequently, the college is functioning in its own building, at Pappakurichi Village, Kattur, since 1972.
Our College has been accredited with “A” Grade by NAAC (Cycle II) in the year 2014 for which we are really feel proud.
