The management, staff advisory council comprising of the heads of department and the principal deliberated on the changing trends in higher education and initiated the introduction of Microbiology at the under graduate level in 1998 to realize the vision of the founder and to carry out the mission of extending the recent areas of development in higher education to the less privileged, who depend on this institution for their upliftment and liberation through education. Though the initial investment for microbiology related equipment and laboratory facilities was a constraint for the management it went ahead with the project to realize the noble mission of extending this area of high-tech education to the marginalized.

The management having experienced the high potential demand for Microbiology introduced the post graduate course in the successive year 1999. The department has well equipped laboratories for the UG and PG courses, adequate books in their library. The journals of immediate relevance and current interest are made available to the students and members of the faculty to keep abreast with the areas of growth and recent developments in the field of microbiology.
